In the Course the only difference between the Creator and Its Creation is that the Creator creates Itself and creates Its Creation, i.e., Its “Children,” but Its Creation – the Beings that make up the eternal, spiritual Universe – do not reciprocally create their Creator or themselves, but they do create their own creations just as their Creator created them. The Creator endowed all Its Children, including all human beings, with this creative Power in order to “extend” Creation forever and without end.
“In Creation you are not in a reciprocal relation to the Divine, because It created you, but you did not create It. . . . In this respect your creative Power differs from the Divine’s. . . . If the Divine created you and you were also to create the Divine, then the Realm of Heaven could not increase through Its Own creative Thought. Creation would then be limited, and you would not be Cocreators with the Divine. As the Divine’s creative Thought proceeds from It to all Its Children, so must your creative thoughts proceed from you to your creations. In this way only can all creative Power extend Everywhere.”
All human beings, being created by the Creator of the eternal, spiritual Universe, are also beings of immeasurable creative Power like their Creator. In fact, their creative Power is such that they made an entire world and projected it outside themselves as the world we perceive around us. Unfortunately, that world was not created in accord with the Creator and Its Divine Will and Laws of Love and Harmony, and so it became a dream world, a world of illusions, through a process described throughout the Course and in detail in this worldview. Undoing the mistake in the use of our creative Power that made the world we find ourselves in is the goal of awakening.
“Everything made by a Child of the Divine is powerful. It is absolutely essential that you realize this, because otherwise you will not understand why the thought system of this Course may seem difficult to master, and without mastering it you will be unable to escape from the prison you have made for yourself.”
The creative Power of the Divine Children has never ceased, even in the current state of what we perceive as the world, though our true creations, i.e., those created in accord with the Creator and Its Divine Will and Laws, continue to take place in a realm that most of us do not currently have conscious access to. (Note that the creations of the Children of the Divine, and our individual creation by the Divine, are spelled with a small “c” in ARCIM to differentiate these from the Creation as a whole.)
Our true creations are never lost. They merely wait for us to awaken to them. “You, too, have a Realm that your spirit has cocreated. Your spirit has not ceased to create even though your ego has temporarily set you on the road of perception. Your spirit’s creations are no more creator-less than you are. Your ego and your spirit will never be cocreators, but your spirit and your Creator will always be. Be confident that your creations are as safe as you are.” (Note that the term “spirit” not capitalized in ARCIM refers to the part of our mind that didn’t become split in the separation, while “Spirit” capitalized always refers to the Holy Spirit.)
“Your creations are protected for you because the Holy Spirit, Who is in your mind, knows them, and can bring them into your awareness whenever you will let It. They are there as part of your own being, because your Fulfillment includes them. The creations of every Child of the Divine are yours because every creation belongs to everyone, being created for the Divine Family as a whole.”
“Because together we are the Realm of Heaven, I [Jesus] can lead you back to your own creations, which you do not yet remember and therefore do not know. Spirit has kept them very safe in Its Knowing while your attention has wandered. What has been dissociated from is still there, for which we can be truly grateful.” “The reason you do not know your creations is simply that as long as your mind is split you would decide against them, and to attack what you have created is impossible.”
“Extension [creation] cannot be blocked, and It has no voids. It continues forever, however much It is denied. Your denial of Its Reality arrests It in time, but not in Eternity. That is why your creations have not ceased to be extended, and why so much is waiting for your Return [to Reality].”
